Summary of Project:
The proposed research is aimed to investigate the seismicity of the continental Laptev Sea Rift using new data from a small-aperture array. The Laptev Sea Rift, located north-east Siberia is one of the rare opportunities to study recent continental breakups. This region indicates a sparse and diffuse seismicity, but new data from a local array close to Tiksi shows a large number of small events. After getting familiarized with array processing techniques the main objective will be to detect these events and analyze their spatio-temporal distribution.
